What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President – Enterprise Systems position at AMLI Management Company?
AMLI Residential, a leading national owner, operator, and developer of luxury apartment communities, has an opening for a Vice President – Enterprise Systems. The VP of Enterprise Systems will lead teams that are responsible for software development, business intelligence, database administration, and enterprise system administration. This person will also be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing the enterprise systems strategy, architecture, policies, and standards.
Collaboration is not just a part of this role; it's the key to success. The person will collaborate closely with other IT leaders, AMLI leadership, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to align the enterprise systems goals and objectives with business objectives and priorities. Additionally, will lead the various internal and external resources of the enterprise systems teams to ensure the effective delivery and operations of high-quality solutions.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Leadership/Staff Development - Provide leadership and direction for enterprise systems staff and external resources under his/her supervision, which includes but not limited to effective employee relations, compliance with employment laws, ongoing training, staff engagement, and communication in regard to company policies. Ensure regular coaching and performance evaluations for all personnel. Ensure alignment with the business objectives of the organization.
Strategy
- Research and understand emerging technologies, especially as these may affect AMLI’s enterprise systems
- Analyze ongoing enterprise system performance, security, capabilities, and opportunities
- Work closely with business leaders to identify, evaluate, recommend, and design technology solutions that enable business initiatives
- Regularly interface with the CEO of AMLI Management Company, CIO, CFO, and various AMLI VPs on new and existing strategic initiatives
- Represent AMLI strategic interests on industry panels and groups, partner customer advisory councils, and AMLI committees.
Project Management
- Evaluate business case requirements, evaluate technologies and vendors, conduct RFP selection process, and execute proof of concept pilots
- Plan, execute, and manage projects according to business requirements and meeting strict deadlines and within budget
- Coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan
Operations
- Manage, direct, and delegate all aspects of the operational health and performance of enterprise systems
- Maintain strategic business relationships with SaaS providers and with existing and potential partners
- Define and implement enterprise systems policies, procedures, controls, and best practices
- Manage enterprise system budgets, expenses, and investments.
Travel: Estimated 5%
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred.
- Ten plus years of experience in Information Technology role with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership preferred.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in managing and overseeing Software development teams, database teams, BI teams, and SaaS management.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; confident interacting with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as business colleagues outside of AMLI.
- Knowledgeable regarding current available technology solutions and trends. Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL/SSIS/SSAS, PowerBI, Azure, Fabric, and DevOps. Strong understanding of management and administration of SaaS ERP platforms, preferably Workday. Highly proficient in Microsoft office applications.
