Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Working Foreman to join our team at Ammer Construction & Development Company, a reputable general contractor company. The Working Foreman will lead and supervise a crew of skilled tradespeople to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to actively contribute to the work on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise: Oversee a team of subcontractors, laborers, and tradespeople, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
- On-Site Execution: Actively participate in the physical labor of remodeling projects, including but not limited to framing, drywall, carpentry, painting, flooring, light electrical, light plumbing, and finish work.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan and execute daily work schedules, manage materials, and maintain an organized job site.
- Quality Control: Ensure the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail on all aspects of the remodel, consistently meeting company standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations. Report any safety issues to the Project Manager.
- Communication: Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, vendors, and other subcontractors. Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager and other stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and project needs.
- Troubleshoot and Problem-Solve: Address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the remodeling process, including design or structural challenges.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily progress, materials used, and any changes to project scope or schedule.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior crew members, helping them to grow and improve their skills.
- Customer Relations: Ensure that all work is completed in a way that enhances customer satisfaction. Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients on the job site.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Working Foreman or in a similar role in residential remodeling or construction.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Hands-on experience with carpentry, framing, drywall, and other common remodeling tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems on-site and make quick, informed decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional trade certifications are a plus).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with construction management software.
- Experience with residential electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
