Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are currently seeking dedicated Forklift Operators to join a team in Baton Rouge and Plaquemine, Louisiana. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our logistics processes, involving the handling of materials and products to ensure efficiency and safety in our warehouse.

This is for a leading logistics company that has been an industry pioneer since 1982.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to transport goods and materials throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, shelves, and other storage areas.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure operational safety.
• Follow safety regulations and standards strictly at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff and management to optimize processes.
• Keep accurate records of inventory movements to assist in inventory control and management.
• Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks as needed.
  
  

Key Requirements:

• Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
• Possess a valid forklift certification.
• Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical condition and strength, required for handling heavy loads.
• Attention to detail and proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  
  

Salary:

• The pay rate for this position ranges from $12 to $16 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
