We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager/Estimator to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our fleet and equipment.
Job Summary:
This dual-role position requires expertise in estimating project costs and managing construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, including earthwork, utilities, paving, and site development, with a keen ability to balance project budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating Duties:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and pricing.
- Develop bid proposals and submit competitive bids within deadlines.
- Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and negotiate costs.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities to optimize project profitability.
Project Management Duties:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee civil construction projects from pre-construction to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality control measures.
- Lead project teams, including field supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to project scope, timelines, and safety standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and enforce safety regulations.
- Track project performance, report progress, and manage change orders as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating and project management within the civil construction industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software (such as HCSS, Bluebeam, or similar) and project management tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
