Augusta Health, an innovative patient-focused organization, is seeking their newest Director of Information Technology to join them in this exciting opportunity in Fishersville, Virginia!

The Position

• Augusta Health seeks an experienced Director of IT Operations to lead the execution and delivery of enterprise IT services, ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of the health system’s technology environment. This role oversees infrastructure, enterprise applications, and IT operations, including service management and desktop support, managing three direct reports and 60 indirect reports. The director is responsible for maintaining efficient service delivery across these domains, ensuring a high-performing IT environment that supports Augusta Health’s mission and evolving healthcare needs.
• Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Director of IT Operations focuses on executing IT initiatives, maintaining system uptime, and optimizing IT service delivery. This leader plays a key role in major projects, including EHR and ERP implementations, the integration of emerging technologies such as AI, and the application of innovative design techniques to solve complex healthcare challenges. By leading cross-functional teams and ensuring seamless IT operations, the director enables Augusta Health to leverage technology to enhance patient care, improve efficiency, and drive innovation.
• Acting as the key liaison between the CIO and IT managers, this leader will drive seamless communication, ensure successful project execution, and foster a collaborative, high-performing IT environment. A primary focus will be the implementation of Meditech Expanse HER and the adoption of AI projects.
• The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT leader with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, execute effectively, and cultivate a team-driven environment. Experience managing large-scale IT projects, particularly EHR implementations, is highly preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• A critical component of this role is building and sustaining a high-performing team with expertise across IT disciplines. The director will evaluate team capabilities, enhance productivity, and support professional development, fostering a collaborative and engaged work environment. This leader champions shared governance, ensuring co-created departmental standards and best practices that align with Augusta Health’s strategic goals.

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
