The Position

• The Director of Surgical Services will provide strategic leadership and oversee the daily operations of a 5-bed OR. This role also encompasses management of Ambulatory Surgery, Post-Operative Care, Anesthesia, Central Sterile Processing, and a 3-bed Endoscopy Unit.
• Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, this leader will oversee a team of three direct reports and 47 FTE’s.
• This leader will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive quality improvement program, restructuring the OR block schedule with a focus on optimizing room utilization, and leading efforts to recruit and retain high-performing staff.
• The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader in one or more of the areas mentioned above, with a strong preference for those with prior OR leadership experience. This role requires a hands-on leader who is willing to actively engage and provide support when needed. Strong communication skills, the ability to foster collaboration, and a proven track record of building trust are essential for success in this position.
  
  
  

Requirements

• BSN required; MSN highly preferred.
• Active ME RN or compact license required.
• Minimum of five to seven years of progressive management/leadership experience required.

• York is a town in York County, Maine, United States, near the southern tip of the state and Situated beside the Atlantic Ocean on the Gulf of Maine.
• York is known for its excellent beaches, lighthouse, and for being not that far from one of the most beautiful hikes in southern Maine.
• Founded in 1642 and is one of Maine's oldest towns, so there are also many historical sites that are just waiting to be explored by the towns visitors.
• The Nubble Lighthouse is one of the best lighthouses to see in all of Maine, and it just happens to be in York! It was opened in 1879 and has been a staple in this part of Maine ever since. Other exciting features of the city include, three 18-hole golf clubs, tons of city parks, and Mount Agamenticus.
