Registered Nurse – Intensive Care - ICU - Travel - (ICU RN)
StartDate: 3/13/2025 Available Shifts: 12 N Pay Rate: $2402.22 - $3141.37
UHS Hospitals Critical Care Traveler Float Pool Guidelines Working for UHS means working for a great team. What to expect when joining our critical care traveler float pool - Staff will be asked to float between the Johnson City and Binghamton hospital campuses. - Critical care assignments will be taken in our 14 bed ICU, 16 bed CVICU, 6 bed medical ICU (Binghamton campus), 6 bed neuro and 5 bed surgical step down suites. - While working in our critical care areas nurses maintain a 1:2/ 1:3 acuity based nurse to patient ratio. - Stepdown ratios are 1:4. Floating Outside of Critical Care - When census or acuity drops, staff may be asked to float outside of the Critical Care setting. - If there is NOT an appropriate Critical Care Assignment, staff are assigned to a telemetry/medical units where a 1:4 ratio will be maintained. UHS does not have a holds/observation unit - If census is high patients may be held in our emergency departments. - These patents have been admitted and are under the care of an attending physician. - To care for these patients, float pool staff go to the emergency department and treat these patients as if they are on an inpatient unit. - Patients are critical care, and med/surge in nature and staff will not take greater than a 1:4 ratio. - Staff are NOT taking care of emergency room patients, inpatient holds only. Staff Support - All travel staff will report to the Nurse Manager of the Clinical Resource Office (CRO). - Schedules are published in four week increments (block scheduling will be limited based on hospital needs). - Daily assignments come from the CRO - Pay sheets will be signed by the CRO Nurse Manager We are excited to have you join the UHS family. Registered Nurse, ICU Experience: 1 year 6 months Licenses: RN-NY Certifications: ACLS; BLS; CERT-NIH Stroke Scale Will accept with NYS license pending
Must have IV experience
Travelers will be required to float between two campuses that are 15 mins apart
