What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambulatory Operating Room Nurse (Ambulatory OR RN) position at AMN Healthcare?
Ambulatory OR RN’s provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery. Duties include patient education, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially First Assist. Work alongside surgical teams to make sure that patients are receiving the best possible care; serve as liaisons between the surgical team and the patients ' families. Ambulatory OR RN’s work in a clinic, or outpatient setting. There are several types of operating rooms depending on the type of surgery such as: General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac/Thoracic.
Education/Requirements:
*Nephrology Department: Will start PT (2-3 shifts per week) and will turn in to FT from Mid-July to Mid-August; prefer Nephrology experience and MUST have Ambulatory or Inpatient experience, great assessment and critical thinking skills. Duties: triage calls and email messages to patients, 80% of patients fall into kidney disease, dialysis or transplant and occasionally (< 5% of time) patient assessment and vital signs
Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
- ACLS is often required
