What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) position at AMN Healthcare?
OR RN's provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery. Duties include patient education, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially First Assist. Work alongside surgical teams to make sure that patients are receiving the best possible care; serve as liaisons between the surgical team and the patients ' families. OR RN’s work in the operating room of a hospital. There are several types of operating rooms depending on the type of surgery such as: General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac/Thoracic.
Education/Requirements:
*Need (2) OR RNs --- 8-hour shifts Monday – Friday ---- Must have experience with Ortho, and neuro, experience is a plus. The unit also does Robotics, Hearts, Urology, Vascular, and General Surgery.
Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
- ACLS is often required
