t\t POSITION SUMMARY
t\t POSITION DUTIES
This position's primary responsibility is to perform administrative and support duties in support of neurosurgery practice to ensure the continuity of patient care and Clinic services. Main job functions will coordinate the care of patients from check-in to check-out as outlined by provider instructions. Facilitates priority communications between patients and providers by processing messages that come in via phone, portal, web, chat and / or fax. Serves as liaison with hospitals / surgery centers for surgical patients and performs prior authorizations on their behalf. Greets patients warmly and scans outside records the patient may bring to the visit. Following the visit, performs the check-out process including making additional appointments (diagnostic testing and follow up appointments) and coordinating provider orders as appropriate. Sends summary of care to outside providers. Assists patients with insurance forms for medications. Monitors provider schedules to confirm all information is available for upcoming patient visits.
t\t MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or GED equivalent. Medical Administrative degree helpful.
At least one year of previous medical office experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Strong knowledge of surgery scheduling and prior authorizations / insurance.
t\t PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in scheduling neck / spine MRI's is preferred.
