POSITION: Remote IP CDI
DEPARTMENT: Health Information Management
START: ASAP
LOCATION: Remote
POSITION SUMMARY: This will involve daily reviews of high acuity patient records; continuously communicating with department staff; educating physicians, residents and mid-levels; and assisting with appropriate documentation strategies. Partnering with Medical Coding, Case Management and the Quality team, you will gather/analyze information to provide comprehensive medical record documentation that accurately reflects clinical treatment, decisions, and diagnoses. You will utilize your clinical expertise and coding knowledge to identify opportunities and ensure accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation. You will also leverage physician queries to improve documentation quality while providing key support to medical coders, case managers and Quality staff.

Position Duties
- Case review and Query identification- All IP and peds
- Coding notifications- review for missed query or coding opportunities based on Coder feedback and send as appropriate
- Identify and query appropriately on HACs and PSIs
- Queries: Follow up, utilize templates appropriately, and maintain compliance
- Attend Daily CDI huddle (virtual)
- Mortality reviews and reconciliation
- APR-DRG experience is a MUST
- Must have a RN. Having an additional credential - CCDS CDIP, or a CCS would be preferred.
- Three (3) years recent Acute Care Hospital experience at an Academic Level I Trauma facility w/ RN . Preferred to have RN with one of the following credentials - CCDS, CDIP, CCS, RHIA, RHIT
- Recent Academic Level 1 Trauma with exposure to ICU-critical care experience.
- Extensive knowledge with recent Cerner EHR and 3M360 workflow that ranks cases and experience and be able to work independently.
- Must work M-F business hours Mountain Time Zone.
- Strong communication (written/verbal) with experience in writing queries
- Must be technically savvy.
- 5yrs Academic Level I Trauma facility experience
- Bachelor of Science – Nursing, CCS credentials
- Extensive knowledge and experience working in a ICU
- Strong communication (written/verbal) with experience in writing queries
- Must be technically savvy.
- M – F 8hrs per day, 40hrs a week, during standard business hours Mountain Time Zone Business Hours Only
- Pay Range: Paid weekly a very competitive hourly rate
