What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stanford Health Care Head and Neck Medical Oncology APP (NP/PA) position at AMN Healthcare?
Stanford Health Care is looking for two full time Advanced Practice Providers (NP/PA) that wish to work in Oncology, with a sub-specialty in Head/Neck Medical Oncology. Head/Neck cancers include cancers of the nasopharynx, sinuses, oropharynx (both HPV-mediated and those from heavy smoking/alcohol use), oral cavity, tongue, salivary glands, among others (including skin cancers that metastasize to Head/Neck regions). Given the location and complexity of these cancer diagnoses, caring for head and neck cancer patients is both technically complex and emotionally compelling.
The APP will build expertise/knowledge/skills in general medicine as well as in the Head/Neck Medical Oncology specialty. Stanford Health Care strives to ensure APPs work at the top of their license/scope, therefore APPs will transition over time from working in co-shared settings with their MD colleagues to treating the same patient panel in their APP independent clinic. Patients seen in independent practice includes previously treated patients under surveillance, newly diagnosed patients, patients on cancer-treatment both short-term and long-term, as well as patients that require transition to hospice after multiple lines of treatment.
The ideal Head and Neck Medical Oncology NP/PA would have at least 1 year of Oncology experience as an APP.
