About the position:
The Human Resources Intern will provide support to our Human Resources department, assisting with employee engagement projects, talent acquisition, onboarding, DEI initiatives, and administrative support. The intern will assist with coordinating company-wide employee engagement efforts, including survey design, data analysis, and event planning. This role will also gain familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and all stages of the hiring cycle. Must be local to Chicago and able to be in office once per week.
Essential Functions:
Assist with development and administration of employee surveys
Analyze survey data and make recommendations
Support employee engagement efforts, including employee recognition, virtual and in-person events, and office management
Talent acquisition: assist with job postings, screening resumes, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
Assist with ATS maintenance and administration
Develop job descriptions and screening questions for various roles
Participate in AMO’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and support AMO’s DEI initiatives
Develop onboarding plans in conjunction with hiring managers
Support process improvement activities within the HR department
Manage AMO’s team calendar and assist with internal communications
Conduct research on HR best practices and regulations
Work on various special projects
Maintain strong working relationships with all AMO team members
Other duties as assigned
Skills:
Must possess a strong work ethic

Proficient in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must be local to Chicago and able to be in office (River North) once per week
Education/Experience:
Must have completed a minimum of 2 years of college and be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related degree
Experience managing multiple tasks
Experience with Microsoft Office required
Experience with ATS a plus
Experience with Google Forms a plus
Experience working in a fast-paced startup culture
