Caretaker

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to provide essential support and care to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with autism.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences while ensuring proper meal preparation techniques.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health or behavior.
• Provide companionship and engage residents in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
• Uphold resident rights by treating each individual with dignity and respect.
• Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety for both the caretaker and the resident.
• Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in resident condition to appropriate staff members.

Skills

• Proficient in cooking and meal preparation tailored to individual dietary requirements.
• Experience in senior care or home health settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
• Strong understanding of resident rights and long-term care principles.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting care activities.

Requirements

• Must have a reliable form of transportation and Drivers License.
• Must have a GED, High school diploma or greater
• Must pass drug screening and background check.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 70 per week
