Our team of healthcare professionals positively impacts the health, well-being and quality of life for those we serve providing comprehensive, integrated, affordable healthcare and education to patients. We utilize a team-based model including embedded Behavioral Health Clinicians as well as Case Managers, Care Coordinators and Community Health Workers.
The Interpreter will assist Amoskeag Health staff to provide interpretation, translation, and referral services at Amoskeag Health in an effort to
increase patient’s accessibility to high quality medical care and ancillary services.
Job Relationship
The interpreter is responsible to the Medical Interpretation Supervisor.
- Education/Training: High School Diploma. Medical background (terminology) preferred.
- Experience: Fluently speaks required languages (Spanish & Portuguese & English)
- The right candidate will be offered paid Interpretation training in order to obtain Medical Interpreter Certificate
- Skills: Ability to follow specific instructions. Ability to accurately translate medical terminology
- (verbal &written). Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work with a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation: The starting rate for this position is $16.27 per hour, which reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your rate will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services of interpretation and translation of information (i.e., verbal and/or written) adequately and accurately to clients and Amoskeag Health staff
- Assist clients to obtain necessary medical information from other agencies.
- Provide necessary coverage for Spanish/English documents desktop
- Increase quality of access to health care for minorities by evaluating culturally appropriate health.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural diversity of population being served.
- Extra duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Attends safety related in services as designated by Senior Management team.
