What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outdoor Tour Guide / Recreation & Entertainment position at Amp'd Adventures?
If you love the outdoors, love interacting with people, and have a drive to provide over-the-top customer service, we have immediate openings and we want to hear from you! As a Tour Guide, your job will be introducing both locals and tourists to the area’s unique and popular attractions and activities. You will play the role of an “ambassador of fun”, engaging our guests, keeping them entertained and safe, and offering commentary, wit and interesting tidbits of information. This allows guests to more fully experience and appreciate Colorado Springs social, natural, cultural and historical highlights.
And since you will be conducting tours on Electric and/or Mountain Bikes, if you have a background, interest or skills in bicycling, even better! If you have more advanced bicycle mechanic skills, that is a huge plus. You must be able to ride a bike confidently, instruct others how to ride confidently, and be able to handle groups of riders safely in busy traffic environments.
Our tours are generally on the smaller/ more intimate side of less than 7 people, but can also be larger with multiple guides, so you’ve got to like both working independently and working effectively as part of a team. Most importantly, you must be willing to do whatever is necessary to give our customer’s the absolute highest level of personalized service. Tours generally range from one to three hours, so you’ve got to be good on your toes, and you’ve got to know your stuff! You absolutely, positively need to enjoy spending time with people and being able to carry the conversation easily and engagingly. If on top of that, you have a quick wit, are a good listener, and have the ability to add some humor, you’ll be one of our guide rockstars, and your tips will show it!
