Position Summary
Ninety percent of a child’s brain development happens before the age of 5, and we’re on a mission to help our youngest learners start strong!
Join Early Learning Corps as an Early Learning Tutor and you’ll spend your days in a pre-kindergarten classroom to help students build skills and confidence. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!
How does it work? Partnering with a teacher, you’ll help enhance learning. Whether talking, reading, writing, singing, or playing with students, you’ll be helping them to build early literacy and math skills.
With the extra attention and support, you'll make an incredible impact and help ignite a love of learning!

Core Responsibility
- Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive
- Support reschoolers with learning activities thoughout the day
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training
- Share your experience with community
Essential Qualifications
By the time you begin your services with Early Learning Corps, you should be:
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback
- Prolific in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
- 18 years of agle or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Able to successfully complete a background check
Schedule
We are currently hiring for the 2025-26 school year. Positions run August 2025-June 2026.
- 35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)
- Daytime hours (correspond with school start and end times)
- Monday - Friday (no weekends)
- Time off on holidays and school release days
Part-time positions are also available at 25 and 18 hours per week!
Compensation & Perks Package
Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $17.50 per hour served and additional perks!
