Position Summary
Help meet urgent public health needs while launching your career! As health needs continue to grow and evolve, there’s never been a more important time to support the health and wellness of our communities.
Join Public Health Corps as a Public Health Project Coordinator and you’ll spend your days at a public health agency or community health board committed to addressing critical public health needs. In partnership with the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, we’ll train you to help build organizational capacity and support you every step of the way!
How does it work? You’ll take on projects that contribute to your service site’s goals, focusing on community engagement, data collection, project coordination, volunteer mobilization, or workforce development. While serving, you’ll also receive career coaching and support from public health experts.

Core Responsibilities
- Support projects such as:
- Conducting health assessments
- Facilitting research and data collection
- Leading focus groups
- Advancing health campaigns
- Organizing public health education campaigns
- Commit to your own growth through training and professional development
- Share your experience with the community
Essential Qualifications
By the time you begin your service with Public Health Corps, you should be:
- Dependable and have a history of good attendance
- Able to manage projects
- Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
- Fluent in English
- 18 years of age or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent
- A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
- Ability to succesfully complete a background check
Schedule
We are currently hiring for the 2025-26 program year. Positions run July 2025-June 2026.
- 40 Hours per week
- Daytime hours
- Monday - Friday
- Time off on Holidays
Part-time positions are also available at 25 hours per week!

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $17.25 per hour served and additional perks!
