Machine Operator/Shop Assistant

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and mixing & blending equipment used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. 

The Machine Operator/Shop Assistant is a proactive team player dedicated to ensuring our operations run smoothly while maintaining exceptional product quality. This role primarily involves setting up and operating machines to broach parts with precision, as well as polishing tubes and performing degreasing to adhere to strict specifications and deliver results that meet our quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Set up and operate broaching machines to process metal workpieces according to specifications and tooling instructions.
• Review blueprints, job orders, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and required tooling, including holding fixtures and cutting tools.
• Polish round tubes of varying diameters and bend radii to ensure quality finishes.
• Operate a degreaser machine to wash and clean products, ensuring removal of impurities.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
