TECHNICIAN KEY RESPONIBILITIES:
Computer Hardware and IT Setup:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware components such as CPUs, monitors, printers, and other devices (e.g., printers, scanners).
- Setup and configure operating systems (Windows) and ensure seamless integration with networked devices.
- Ensure proper installation and functionality of IT equipment including servers, desktops, and networking hardware.
Networking and Cable Installation:
- Install and configure wired and wireless networks, including routers, switches, and IP cameras.
- Run and terminate structured cabling systems (Cat 5e/6/7, fiber optics, coaxial) for data, video, and power transmission.
- Organize and secure cables for network and video surveillance installations, ensuring proper airflow and avoiding interference.
AV System Installation and Configuration:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot analog and IP-based video surveillance systems (CCTV), including cameras, NVRs, and video management systems (VMS).
- Mount, position, and connect video surveillance cameras for optimal coverage, ensuring minimal blind spots.
- Set up and integrate additional security devices such as motion sensors, controllers, and access control systems into the overall network.
Electrical and Power Setup:
- Install and configure power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and electrical components to ensure proper system operation.
- Connect power supplies and ensure all electrical setups comply with safety standards.
System Integration & Troubleshooting:
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of both IT and AV systems, using specialized tools such as cable testers, signal meters, and video analyzers.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all installed systems, including firmware updates and troubleshooting signal, image quality, and cabling issues.
- Ensure all systems are well-documented for easy troubleshooting and future upgrades, including cable maps and network diagrams.
Physical and Site Work:
- Install equipment in commercial environments and in confined spaces (server racks, ceilings, or under desks).
- Lift and move heavy equipment, such as server racks, monitors, and IT hardware, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Work at heights or in tight spaces when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in AV installation, CCTV system setup, IT systems setup, and structured cabling.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IP/analog CCTV cameras, NVRs, networking (TCP/IP), and computer hardware. Proficiency with AV systems, including cameras, servers, and video management systems.
- Education: Technical degree or certification in IT, telecommunications, electronics, or a related field preferred.
Additional Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, both for IT and AV systems.
- Ability to install and configure computer systems, networking equipment, and security systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift equipment, work at heights, and navigate confined spaces.
Additional Requirements:
- Transportation: Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Travel: Company travel will be necessary when new locations open nationwide.
- Work Environment: Willingness to work in diverse environments and flexible hours as required for urgent installations or maintenance tasks.
