If so, Amperage Marketing Fundraising is looking for a part-time Payroll & HR Specialist to join our dynamic team in Cedar Falls!

As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of payroll and employee benefits. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be the go-to person for employee inquiries related to pay and benefits, bridging the crucial intersection of employment and finance within our agency. Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration: Assist with the day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including new hire enrollment, answering employee questions, processing changes and terminations, and coordinating COBRA to meet critical deadlines.
  • Invoice Management & Reconciliation: Manage carrier invoices, provide necessary information to the accounting team, and lead monthly reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy.
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately and efficiently process semi-monthly payroll for both salary and hourly employees, ensuring compliance with all applicable wage and hour regulations.
  • Timecard Administration: Lead the administration of hourly employee timecards, verifying accuracy (including overtime eligibility) and entering data into relevant systems for timely payment.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries, providing quick, equitable, and courteous resolutions.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential employment records and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Project Collaboration: Partner with the Finance Director on special projects, providing support and contributing to successful outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Perform cross-functional duties within the agency as needed, demonstrating adaptability and contributing to overall team success.
  • Office Management: Provide general administrative support to employees, manage our Microsoft Teams phone system, and act as the primary contact for employees and external parties at our Cedar Falls office. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Finance Director.

Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities for accurate financial and payroll records.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and accountability.
  • Proficient with technology and software, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in human resources, with specific skills in benefits and payroll processing strongly preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is based in our professional office environment in Cedar Falls, IA, and requires the incumbent to be onsite to perform job duties effectively.
