Responsibilities:
- Lead next generation power conversion system design applicable to Solid State Transformer Systems including optimized topology, device selection, magnetics, and controls
- Drive best in class solutions that balance efficiency, cost, safety, and reliability, and use cases to support key customer needs
- Own simulation and optimization of power conversion approaches to ensure various approaches are ranked by customer impact and figures of merit
- Ensure our power electronics roadmap leverages latest supplier SiC/GaN and magnetics capabilities
- Drive advanced power electronics packaging solutions along with mechanical/electrical teams
- Own design for EMC and compliance by building into architecture, requirements, and risk management of our programs
- Lead advanced controls development to unlock optimized technology for our products
- Lead power electronics technical requirements development and tracking through programs
- Participate in prototype development and validation of next generation power electronics concepts
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in power electronics design and architecture.
- 10 years' experience in power conversion design
- Industry leading knowledge and proven execution of power conversion development
- Demonstration of design by simulation and figure of merit approach including topology, controls, devices, and magnetics
- Outstanding knowledge of EMC and HV related compliance
- Exceptional experience working with Sales, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Applications and Compliance Engineering to drive harmonized and efficiently executed solutions for the customer
- Evidence of delivering strategic and tactical based power electronics solutions
- Entrepreneurial mindset with clear bias for informed action and leading new initiatives with limited resources and support
- Excellent written and verbal communications in English
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally
