SUMMARY
The Applications Engineer (AE) supports Amphenol-CDI Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams to provide technical support for new and existing customers in the assigned Region. The AE develops and maintains relations with customer’s design and manufacturing engineers by understanding problems and providing solutions via presentations, proposals, quotations, and samples. The AE analyzes opportunities and makes recommendations to drive sales growth and sustainment by supporting customer purchasing and planning organizations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Engage customer base in engineering design phase for new product development
Performs technical review of customer specifications
Makes recommendations for the optimal Amphenol-CDI product solution to meet customer requirements
Assesses cost impact of customer requirements, changes to develop cost estimates
Creates customer-facing configuration and specification drawings in support of proposals
Travel to customer sites as needed to support existing business and win new opportunities
Interprets customer drawings, specifications, and standards to develop product designs
Monitor industry / market trends and requirements to provide input into new product innovations and anticipated customer demands
Work with Marketing to identify product and pricing to compete in territory
Communicates design concerns, drawing errors, interpretation issues, and manufacturability enhancements to Outside Sales and customer technical contacts as necessary. Must be able to fully understand Amphenol-CDI production capabilities and data requirements and must be able to communicate professionally
Provides support to Amphenol-CDI Manufacturing Engineering to develop processes as needed to support customer requirements
In support of Marketing, creates customer-facing materials for use in advertisements, literature and websites
Provides quick response and resolution to customer technical issues and problems involving industry standards, specifications, design assistance, production capabilities, and material requirements
Performs other duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the company

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
The ideal candidate will have experience in RF interconnects and/or Filter Connector Products
3-5 years of experience in a similar position
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Conversational in any other language is a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

SALARY INFORMATION:
According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $90,000 and $140,000 hourly/annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
