Job Summary Responsible for the design, development, improvement, and validation of new and current high-reliability connectors and connector accessories for industrial, military, or space applications. Job Responsibilities Consults with management, marketing, production, and sales representatives to establish design/improvement concepts. Integrates findings and concepts and sketches design ideas. Evaluates design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, and manufacturability. Assists in writing specifications for new products. Designing components and assemblies to industry and customer specifications Defines materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications. Works directly with Sales, Planning and Procurement, Operations, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Accounting, suppliers, customers, and other groups as a cross functional team to develop products/solutions. Tracking and reporting project time and progress metrics Providing technical support for product to other departments or customers Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience. Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments. Skilled in use of personal computers and capable of learning 2-D/3-D Cad software (preferably DS SolidWorks and AutoCAD) Proficient with or capable of learning Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Capable of learning to interpret engineering drawings and industry and military specifications. Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies. Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or safety coordinator. Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices. Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.  Requirements Education: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field AND 1 years’ experience in a technical field related to degree OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, reach overhead. Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 25lbs.  Knowledge: Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Quality — Knowledge of quality principles such as standards, defects, approval criteria, repeatability of a process, Plan-Do-Check-Act, 5-Whys, root cause analysis, and failure modes. Skills: Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Attention to Detail —Being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Communicating with Persons Outside Organization — Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail. Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Computer Usage — Ability to use MS Office, fax, and use internet. Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively. Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others. Abilities: Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. Written Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
