SUMMARY
The Demand Planning Manager's primary responsibility is managing the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for assigned businesses and sites. They are responsible for developing best-in-class processes, standardizing practices, and driving improvements. Additionally, the manager manages the calendar of events, research business issues to identify potential problems, and conducts deep dive analyses aligned with customer expectations and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Foster an inclusive workplace by actively addressing biases and promoting diversity.
Establish and oversee a comprehensive SIOP process to optimize sales, inventory, and operations planning.
Champion standardization and adherence to compliance across all business operations.
Equip leadership with strategic insights to facilitate risk mitigation, addressing factors such as capacity constraints, shifts in demand and product mix, customer forecast variability, and more.
Synchronize production with real-time demand by integrating tactical and strategic planning across different organizational functions, utilizing Oliver Wight methodologies.
Thoroughly analyze customer forecasts and production schedules to create a cohesive IBP that includes new product development, strategic projects, and financial forecasting.
Identify and address key capacity bottlenecks in collaboration with the Value Stream team, formulating strategies to alleviate or minimize these constraints.
Enhance process efficiency by applying lean methodologies and adopting industry-proven best practices.
Maintain clear and effective communication with all business units regarding the IBP, including setting priorities, providing status updates, and sharing project developments.
Foster internal collaboration to resolve any operational conflicts effectively.
Lead and mentor site-specific demand planners/analysts to promote their development and ensure alignment with corporate standards and objectives.
Maintains clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of supply chain experience or high school diploma and nine (9) years of supply chain experience, specifically in purchasing, production control, and/or planning.
Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete first module of APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program (or equivalent) within one year of employment is required.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Conversational in any other language is a plus.
JOB SKILLS
Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
Strong material management skills including various levels of planning from Sales and Operations Planning to Execution and Control of Operations/Production Activity Control, Transactional Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Warehousing, Inventory Control, Shipping and/or Logistics as well as critical thinking and problem-solving capability
Proficient with material requirement planning (MRP) and SIOP.
Knowledge of SI&OP/IBP Planning and lean concepts.
