Position : Senior Process Engineer
Location : Hamden, CT
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom / Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Amphenol Spectra-Strip is a leader in hyper scale data center bulk wire solutions. We develop and manufacture gigabit copper cable solutions for high performance and cloud compute applications. We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in Hamden, CT.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards.
- Utilize skills to continuously improve the manufacturing process and eliminate wasteful activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams in Hamden and global facilities.
- Communicate effectively while spending time hands-on with the production floor to solve process issues and reduce scrap levels.
- Maintain and improve existing manufacturing processes.
- Become the technical leader for the assigned areas.
- Develop assembly line processes and write work instructions.
- Design, test, and deploy tooling and automation.
- Work closely with external suppliers and manufacturers on new equipment and processes.
- Prepare equipment and systems specifications.
- Understand process step cycle times, efficiencies, and yields.
- Act as an agent of change in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
- Participate in DFMs, FMEAs, and risk assessment activities.
- Define critical product / process parameters relating to product documentation nominals and tolerances.
- Evaluate safety and occupational risks.
- Propose and implement cost reduction activities.
