Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our global engineering team in developing cutting-edge solutions for military and aerospace applications. Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to global engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design and development of high-performance products that meet the stringent requirements of military and aerospace applications.
- Develop and execute global engineering strategies aligned with company objectives, ensuring design excellence, cost-effectiveness, and product reliability.
- Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing across international engineering teams to optimize product development and integration.
- Manage engineering resources, budgets, and project timelines efficiently to meet business and technical goals.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, integrating relevant innovations into the product portfolio.
- Perform other duties as needed to support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years of leadership experience in an engineering department, with a strong background in the military, aerospace, or related industries.
- 2 years of experience managing global engineering teams.
- 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in interconnect design and manufacturing processes.
- In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulations relevant to military and aerospace applications.
- Strong project management skills with a history of successful product launches.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required.
Travel Requirements:
This role requires frequent international and domestic travel, including 4 to 5 trips to China per year to support global engineering operations. Additionally, periodic travel on an as needed basis to customers, suppliers, and other Amphenol locations across North America is expected to ensure seamless collaboration and project execution.
