MILK RECEIVING

AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

1.  All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority.  
2. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities.  
3. Responsible for product receiving & shipments. Assures the proper scaling, sampling, testing of product including milk tests such as drip, tank or co: T.A., H2O, Bacteria, Butter Fat, Inhibitors. 
4. Maintain recordkeeping & documentation such as load temp, silo filled, truck Clean in Place (CIP), receiving logs, testing logs and notifications, shipment records etc.  
5. Perform T.A.’s, Truck inhibitor screening, individual screenings, and cryoscope. 
6. Sanitation and cleaning of trucks, tanks, silos, lines, work areas, and maintain CIP systems. 
7. Performs and monitors the filling, storage, and agitation of milk holding silos. 
8. Assist with Lab or Cheesemaking employees or any other duties as required and directed. 
9. Comply with existing or future WDATCP, USDA, FDA, or other regulatory agency as required. 
10. Document and communicate production deficiencies to foremen and management.   
11. Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs. 
12. Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and  effectively communicate to others. 
13. Assist with training new employees. 
14. Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting. 
15. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. 
16.  Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. 
17. Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity. 
18. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
• Must be able to maintain a valid forklift operator license
