Job Summary
Strategic Sourcing is responsible for identifying, evaluating and selecting subcontractors and suppliers who have the capability and capacity to support project scopes of work. The expectation is to follow market trends, network and do research both domestic and global to meet the growing needs of the enterprise. Must have in-depth knowledge on how to develop strategic plans to bring in qualified subcontractors, while maintaining contract obligations and compliance. Lead a collaborative work environment to understand business needs and objectives. This leader must be comfortable with public speaking at various venues and conferences and be able to communicate with clients. A strategic mindset is crucial in the role, and it requires the ability to align with client direction, new targets and anticipate potential projects to proactively identify subcontractors and vendors in the respective area and region.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 per year - Commensurate, depending on relevant experience, skills, and education.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field from an accredited program, and at least 5 years of experience in supply chain/supplier diversity is strongly preferred. Equivalent related work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Requires strong computer (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), analytical, negotiating and communication skills.formats and excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Prefer procurement experience in an industrial environment.

- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet business and client needs, while ensuring sourcing activity aligns with diversity, sustainability and regulatory standards and goals.
- Responsible for ensuring the subcontractor has the capability and capacity to perform various construction categories to fit business needs, while maintaining integrity of the subcontractor and supplier database.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers who will provide the best service, quality, price, terms and conditions, warranties, and technical assistance on the materials and services provided.
- Lead comprehensive market analyses to refine sourcing strategies, leveraging data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks. Identify market trends and develop a framework that will anticipate and adapt those trends as the business evolves.
- Participate in RFP kickoff meetings to review scope, schedule, and potential risks and opportunities. Review the client contract to gain an understanding of business and contract requirements and goals as it relates to sourcing.
- Lead cross functional teams to gather information to develop strategy; identify synergies and risks. Plays a key role with selecting qualified and approved subcontractors to bid and works collaboratively with contracts on Master Service Agreements.
- Develop strategic partnerships with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize performance. Track performance and provide feedback, mentorship and coaching as needed.
- Lead large-scale change initiatives, including process improvement and technology adoptions. Ability to understand and leverage different social media platforms and data driven tools to enhance and streamline sourcing outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate subcontractor and vendor performance during project execution and project closeout and provide key performance indicators, and document lessons learned.
- Asses potential risks in the supply chain and implement measures to mitigate risks associated with subcontractors, market volatility, delivery and service. On-site audits may be necessary to walk their process and collect performance data.
- Monitor and measure success of strategic initiatives through established KPI’s and can refine or modify strategies as needed.
- All other related tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
