Tower Technician

As a Tower Technician, you will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication towers, ensuring optimal service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Climbing and working on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment and performing tower maintenance under close supervision.
• Ground / Civil Work familiarity with all aspects of tower site construction
• The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
• The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with a 50lb load.
• Analyzing situations accurately and adopting an appropriate course of action.
• Communicating orally and in writing.
• Following instructions accurately and completing assigned course of action.
• Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
• Work under close supervision.

Requirements

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Highly organized and be able to effectively report verbal and written reports back to the Tower Foreman.
• Ability to follow strict safety protocols and take safety seriously.
• Must currently have climbing certification or be willing to obtain climbing certification through Amplex.
• Possession of a valid drivers license with 4 points or less.
• Applicants must submit and pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and pre-employment drug screen.

This is a local position with no travel other than local. This shift is primarily 8a-4p Monday-Friday, but some weekend and on-call work may occasionally be necessary. This is a full-time, year-round position with full benefits available after a successful 90 days of employment. The pay starts at $22/hour, but can be increased depending on experience.
