We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr Ignition SCADA Systems Engineer to join our team. The Sr Ignition SCADA Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of our industrial automation and control systems based on the Ignition SCADA platform. This role is critical in developing robust SCADA architectures that connect shop floor equipment, ensure real-time data acquisition, and integrate with broader manufacturing systems to drive operational efficiency and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
SCADA System Architecture and Design
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Ignition SCADA solutions across the manufacturing facility.
- Design and develop comprehensive SCADA system architectures using Ignition, including HMI interfaces, historian databases, and control system networks.
- Create detailed system specifications, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation for SCADA implementations.
- Lead technical evaluation and selection of PLC hardware and industrial network technologies.
- Architect scalable and secure industrial control system networks with appropriate redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.
Data Management and Integration
- Design data acquisition strategies and historian systems that support manufacturing analytics and operational intelligence.
- Lead integration efforts between SCADA systems and higher-level applications (MES, ERP, asset management systems).
- Evaluate emerging IIoT technologies and develop strategies to incorporate them into existing SCADA architectures.
Compliance, Standards, and Leadership
- Develop standards for PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial communications to ensure consistency across operations.
- Ensure OT cybersecurity compliance and implement security controls specific to industrial control systems.
- Provide technical leadership for SCADA implementation teams and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.
