What You Will Spark at Amplify:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor of Metrology to join our team. The Supervisor of Metrology will oversee the calibration and maintenance of measurement instruments and equipment used in manufacturing or laboratory settings and support high-performing processes within battery cell manufacturing. This role will support the planning, development, testing and commissioning of measuring equipment. In this role, you will also support the hiring and development of the Calibration team. In the near-term, heavy focus will be placed on working with our partners, domestic and international, with a focus on preparing for the procurement of appropriate measurement equipment, proper quality controls, risk mitigations, FMEA development, as well as the development and implementation of a robust training curriculum for the calibration team. After implementation of the equipment, responsibilities will transition into managing the day-to-day quality operations and continuous improvement of the processes. The Supervisor of Metrology will be accountable for various KPI’s with focus on schedule and cost in the near term and then safety, on-time calibration, NC/CAPA and other quality focused KPI’s. You will also be expected to facilitate, collaborate, drive and steer across multiple project partners as well as our international partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the calibration of measurement instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability in
- manufacturing or laboratory processes.
- Lead and manage a team of metrology technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure that all calibration processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of metrology equipment to minimize
- downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Create and enforce calibration and maintenance procedures to ensure consistent and accurate measurements.
- Maintain detailed records of calibration activities, including certificates, logs, and maintenance
- reports, ensuring traceability and accuracy.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to measurement instruments and metrology
- processes.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure measurement accuracy supports product quality and compliance.
- Plan and schedule regular calibration activities to prevent measurement drift and ensure continuous process reliability.
- Oversee the metrology department's budget, including managing costs related to equipment,
- calibration services, and staffing.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of
- metrology activities.
- Ensure that all metrology activities are conducted following safety protocols and guidelines.
