What You Will Spark at Amplify:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supplier Quality Development Engineer to join our team. The Supplier Quality Development Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the quality of battery cell components supplied by our partners. Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers, you will ensure the highest quality standards are met while driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation efforts within our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Accountability: Lead efforts to hold suppliers accountable for part quality issues impacting production. Ensure timely closure of supplier corrective actions and document resolution steps for future reference.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing teams (Mechanical/Chemical Engineers), Quality Engineering, Design, and other stakeholders to effectively address and resolve quality issues.
- Failure Analysis & Containment: Conduct thorough failure analysis of defective components and collaborate with suppliers to develop both short-term containment actions and long-term corrective measures, managing the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) process.
- On-Site Support: Engage in hands-on support at manufacturing sites to collect and analyze data related to supplier quality performance. Identify trends and collaborate with engineering and failure analysis teams to implement corrective actions.
- Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve part quality, and increase operational efficiency. Utilize statistical analysis, lean methodologies, and project management tools to drive improvements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous documentation related to supplier quality performance, including reports, presentations, and quality metrics. Communicate findings and recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.
- Risk Management: Assess risks associated with supplier quality and develop mitigation strategies. Facilitate risk assessments such as PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to ensure proactive quality management.
- Supplier Development: Work with suppliers to improve their processes and systems, ensuring alignment with our quality expectations. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate quality management systems and capabilities.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal teams and suppliers on quality standards, methodologies, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality throughout the supply chain.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality protocols. Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry trends to maintain the best practices in supplier quality management.
