Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the manufacturing engineering strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Lead efforts to optimize production processes, ensuring high-quality battery production with maximum efficiency and minimal waste.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in battery manufacturing technologies and lead initiatives to incorporate cutting-edge techniques into the production process.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing engineering team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Operations, and EVE teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering processes across the organization.
- Manage the engineering department budget, including capital expenditures, resource allocation, and cost control measures.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards, ensuring all products meet or exceed industry and regulatory requirements.
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and technology partners to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Champion a safety-first culture, implementing and overseeing HSE policies and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred) with a focus on Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a lithium-ion battery manufacturing or similar high-tech manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of battery manufacturing processes, automation, and related technologies strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success installing and commissioning large manufacturing operations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Outstanding leadership and team-building abilities. Effective communications skills across language barriers, can work in a highly stressful environment. Ability to work through communication challenges.
- International experience preferred or experience working with global partners.
