Shipping and Logistics Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy by comparing shipment contents with manifests and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Develop, implement, and modify safety and security protocols for warehouse staff, including conducting after-action reviews following incidents.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of shipping operations to evaluate efficiency, safety, employee morale, and production, present findings and recommendations to department heads and the board of directors.
- Analyze work orders, invoices, and demand forecasts daily to estimate shipping, storage, and delivery requirements; use this information to suggest employee schedules and resource allocation.
- Manage relationships with clients by answering questions, providing shipping updates, and handling complaints in a calm and efficient manner.
- Utilize shipping software (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and manage customs processes for international shipments.
- Pick up and drop off all the services from different locations across Michigan.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three to five years experience in a shipping or logistics role, with both domestic and international shipping experience.
- Proficiency with shipping software (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and customs handling for international shipments.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to delegate effectively.
- Flexibility to work nontraditional hours, including nights and weekends.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and accountable.
Preferred:
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
