SUMMARY
The Outside Sales Manager (OSM) is a senior sales executive position and is responsible for driving growth by developing, managing, and closing business within large, strategic accounts in the specialty metals industry. This role involves overseeing the sales process for the companys diverse product portfolio, aligning solutions with client needs, and fostering long-term relationships with key accounts. The OSM will be pivotal in expanding market share, achieving sales goals, and contributing to our reputation as a leader in the industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to showcase the value of our specialty metals portfolio.
- Strategically manage resources, including dedicated teams and executive staff, to ensure success in high-stakes opportunities.
- Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with clients, ensuring trust and collaboration.
- Handle multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously, from prospecting to closure.
- Lead sales campaigns that involve collaboration with engineering, product development, and operations teams.
- Tailor the companys metal solutions to align with customers business challenges, technical requirements, and strategic goals.
- Advocate for our company by clearly articulating the value, vision, and differentiation of the company and its products.
- Consistently deliver accurate sales forecasts and business insights on a monthly cadence.
- Collaborate effectively in a matrix-management environment, working alongside the Customer Support, Marketing, and Executive Management.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, editing, and presenting tailored proposals.
- Resolve complex problems efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Serve as a sales leader who fosters collaboration and drives results.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred.
Experience:
Extensive experience in materials sales (preferably metals), with a focus on strategic customer development.
Minimum of 10 years of successful sales experience as an individual contributor with a proven track record of exceeding quotas.
Demonstrated ability to close large, complex deals, particularly in industries such as aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and industrial markets.
Skills and Attributes:
- Expertise in creating and executing quarterly and annual business plans to achieve strategic objectives.
- Strong executive presence, credibility, and communication skills to influence decision-makers.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed annual and quarterly revenue goals consistently.
- Strong attention to detail in forecasting and business reporting.
- Effective leadership and collaboration skills in managing cross-functional teams.
Salary Range:
- Base salary of $70K-$85K
- Monthly profit sharing. Youll start off as a 10% share, which increases 10% per month, so youll be fully in after 10 months. ESOP after 1000 hours of full-time employment.
- Profit sharing ranges from $30-70k per year for a full share. (2024 was about $50k)
- Commission on new sales.
- 401(k) match on the first 5% and youre eligible immediately.
