This job description outlines the role and responsibilities of a Product Specialist within a company focused on Paint & Powder processes. The position is designed to support the growth and sales of various products including systems, accessories, consumables, and safety equipment across multiple regions (West, Pacific Northwest, Southeast, Midwest, Northeast, and Canada).
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support: Assist Surface Finishing Specialists with technical aspects related to the sales process, specifically for Paint & Powder products and processes.
Product Knowledge & Recommendations: Focus on products related to the Paint & Powder manufacturing process and provide recommendations to improve customer processes using the latest technology.
Industry Relationships: Engage with internal and external customers, manufacturers, vendors, and material suppliers to improve industry knowledge and create mutually beneficial relationships.
Training & Development: Pursue ongoing training opportunities to continuously improve technical and sales capabilities.
Networking & Market Strategy: Network with key industry partners and help position the company as a leader in Paint & Powder process solutions provider.
Product Solutions & Customization: Work with internal and external resources to develop custom solutions that add value to customers processes.
Performance and Accountability: Contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and process improvement within the team.
Feedback & Improvement: Provide feedback to the Director of Paint & Powder to support ongoing growth and improvement.
Sales Target Achievement: Ensure that sales and gross margin goals are met and identify new business opportunities.
Strategic Planning: Assist with developing and implementing sales strategies and market plans.
Vendor Analysis: Review vendor performance metrics and suggest adjustments to improve overall financial results.
Communication: Maintain clear communication with field sales teams, operations, and support teams to coordinate product segment strategies.
Inventory & Support: Partner with customer service to ensure product availability.
SOPs & Training: Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures and provide training to sales teams.
Job Qualifications:
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in account management, sales, project and/or product management.
Skills:
o Strong use of Business Intelligence and data analytics.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel; SharePoint preferred).
o Experience with CRM platforms and Data Analytic Platforms.
o Strong problem resolution abilities and customer service orientation.
o Mechanical aptitude and ability to absorb and utilize technical information.
o Effective communication skills (oral and written).
o Time management, project planning, and organizational skills.

o Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
