Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plastic Injection Mold Changer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently changing plastic injection molds in a high-production environment. The position requires a good understanding of injection molding processes, a focus on safety and quality, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
As a Plastic Injection Mold Changer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the molding machines are set up and operating correctly for the production of high-quality plastic products. You will be expected to meet production goals while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Mold Changeovers :
Perform the safe and efficient removal of molds from injection molding machines and replace them with new molds according to production requirements.
Machine Setup and Calibration :
Set up and calibrate injection molding machines and molds for each production run, ensuring the correct temperature, pressure, and cycle time.
Quality Control :
Inspect molds and products to ensure they meet quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to the machine or molds to improve product quality.
Troubleshooting :
Identify and troubleshoot any issues with the injection molding process, such as defects or machine malfunctions, and take corrective action as needed.
Maintenance Support :
Assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of molds and injection molding machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
Record Keeping :
Maintain accurate records of mold changes, machine settings, and any relevant quality or production data.
Safety and Compliance :
Adhere to all company safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe conditions.
Collaboration :
Work closely with other team members, such as machine operators, supervisors, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth transitions between mold changes and to meet production targets.
Continuous Improvement :
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes, tools, and equipment to increase efficiency and reduce downtime during mold changes.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with plastic injection molding, mold changes, or machine operations is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Knowledge of injection molding processes, including mold setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in an industrial environment.
