Buyer

Job Purpose
The Buyer is an integral part of the Ensight Solutions Purchasing team and reports to the Purchasing Manager. The Buyer will work closely with the Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Planning, and Production teams to assess and procure materials required to support the most efficient and cost effective production process. The ideal team player will possess strong problem-solving skills, high learning agility and the ability to deal with ambiguity and develop creative solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

Create purchase orders and monitor due date reporting, supplier performance data, and material requirements data.

• Request quotes for materials.
• Work with the Engineering Team, Design Team, and Production Team to identify possible suppliers and materials.
• Monitor and Evaluate inventory levels.
• Create reports for business review.
• Reschedule and Expedite Requests.
• Work directly with Purchasing Manager to generate productivity savings for the organization through sourcing, pricing negotiations, replacement, etc.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and 3rd party service providers
• Support offsite divisions with purchasing requirements.
• Research opportunities for alternate parts and materials, as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications*

Education*

• Bachelors degree in Business or relatable field, preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience*

• At least 1 year of experience with the use of ERP software (i.e. Syteline).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Abilities

PC Skills*

• Microsoft Excel – Proficient level
• Microsoft Outlook – Proficient level

• Must be a self-starter, able to take a vision and create a solution.
• Must be a problem solver, with the ability to successfully follow through on assignments.
• Understanding of safety standards is required; including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be trustworthy, dependable and able to work well with other team members.

Limited travel may be required from time to time.
