- 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC Machining,
- CNC Turning,
- Thermoforming,
- Sheet Metal Bending, and
- Grinding
Job Responsibilities
- Work within the Mechanical Design Team to design custom brackets, mounts, and enclosures
- Create designs with the intent to manufacture cost effective solutions.
- Consider in house capabilities and all associated process costs
- Participate in Peer Review and where possible,
- Suggest how use existing or less expensive raw materials,
- Simplify designs to reduce cost or manufacturing effort,
- Improve functionality,
- Identify purchased parts that can be fabricated internally,
- Refine build tolerances,
- Confirm that the design is responsive to business requirements, and
- Ensure the Customer's requirements are being met?
- Directly interface with shop personnel to troubleshoot issues in manufacturing
- Investigate and remediate product failures as needed
- Potentially perform site walks/visits to direct installation crews on proper steps to assembly
- Perform design walkthroughs (virtual screen shares) with internal and external stakeholders
- Create accurate BOMs and shop drawings to facilitate fabrication
- Track time and attendance in applicable software to support accurate customer invoicing
- 3-5 years' experience in a technical role, preferably engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Strong detailing/documentation skills
- Inventor, Fusion or Solidworks experience. Inventor/Fusion preferred
- Sheetmetal and machined part design experience a plus
- Familiarity with construction techniques a plus
- Thermoform experience a plus
