Roles and Responsibilities:
- Generate precise and accurate 2D and 3D CAD from redlines, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements and objectives, and resolve design challenges.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and company guidelines.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from internal stakeholders or clients.
- Maintain a thorough and organized record of all CAD files, related documents, and bill of materials.
- Support regular best practices updates.
- Support the design, development, and documentation of electro-mechanical products.
- Support cable routing and interface design.
- Assist in updating and implementing best practices under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Perform basic analyses to evaluate designs for compliance with customer requirements and safety standards.
- Participate in design reviews for design and documentation updates
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers to learn and implement best practices for manufacturability and performance.
- Adhere to ISO14001/9001, IATF/TS16949 processes, as applicable.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks required.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor preferred.
- Experience with PLM systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, GD&T, and engineering concepts.
- Understanding of designing and drawing sheet metal and thermoplastic parts.
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Experience in design requirements for regulatory requirements (UL, CE, RoHS, etc.)
- 2-year associate’s degree from a technical institute or community college or equivalent work experience.
