Job Title: Nurse Manager of Surgical Services RN
Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services is responsible for providing leadership, clinical expertise, and operational management within the perioperative department. This role ensures the highest quality of care for surgical patients, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and upholds compliance with professional and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all functions within the Operating Room, Sterile Processing, and Anesthesia departments.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff, including OR supervisors, surgical nurses, and technicians, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Evaluate and maintain the quality of perioperative practices in alignment with established standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient and effective patient care delivery.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow to ensure smooth operations and resource allocation.
- Lead departmental initiatives to improve operational efficiency, patient safety, and employee engagement.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and retention of staff to foster a positive and professional work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage the department budget, including supply inventory and cost control measures.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master’s in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of recent acute care perioperative nursing management experience required.
- Charge Nurse or Supervisor experience within the OR will be considered.
- Operating Room clinical experience required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current RN licensure in the state or compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- CNOR certification required within one year of hire, transfer, or promotion.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively guide and inspire teams.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and practices.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $85,000 - $125,000, based on years of experience.
