Work environment: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
Job Summary
Candidates must have substantial experience with Compulaw
Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, the Litigation Docket Specialist performs a variety of docket/calendar related and administrative duties for attorneys, paralegals and legal secretaries. This position interacts with colleagues in a team setting and upholds the image of the Firm by maintaining positive contact with attorneys and staff, and observing confidentiality of client matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Maintain master calendar of all court deadlines.
- Calendar new events daily.
- Determine court dates by reviewing relevant documents.
- Produce calendar reports weekly and as requested to secretaries, paralegals and attorneys.
- Send monthly calendar reports to upper management.
- Produce client or case specific calendar reports upon request.
- Post updates on the Firm’s portal.
- Respond to calendaring questions from attorney, paralegals, and secretaries.
- Prepare custom calendars for timekeepers upon request.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
- Keep up-to-date with and communicate rule changes to legal personnel.
- Make recommendations on calendaring procedures & processes.
- Make recommendations on calendaring software improvements and/or adjustments.
- Create and maintain resource guides.
- Troubleshoot software problems with calendar program vendor.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of CompuLaw Vision
- Minimum three years of docketing, relevant legal support, or equivalent experience in a law firm or legal services environment is required.
- A four-year degree or, a two-year degree plus a paralegal certificate from an ABA qualified program is preferred. Work experience in lieu of degree is also acceptable.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and prioritize work efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of State and Federal court Rules.
- Ability to read through Court Orders to determine calendarable dates.
- Ability to research local rules.
- Legal citation and legal terminology expertise. Understanding of court rules and protocols and knowledge of calendaring deadlines.
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
