JOB DESCRIPTION
Our federal client is looking to hire a Quality Assurance Analyst for a hybrid role in Washington, DC. Please send your resume in WORD format should you be interested in exploring this role. The position is on a contract to hire basis and will pay an hourly rate of $30 - $35/HR 1099. We also offer the option of $70K to $73,500K W2, with full benefits and PTO. This role will allow for remote work 2 days a week and onsite in Washington, DC, Tuesday through Thursday.
***Due to the required clearance with our government client, only US Citizens, Green Card and Green Card EAD holders may be considered. Clearance requires that the candidates have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days***
The position is a part of our clients applications development team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining applications to support the business functions of the organization.A Quality Analyst is someone who can handle any needed test activities. Basically, they are comfortable working on all tiers of application development involving various technologies.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Candidate must have Bachelors degree and hands-on software testing experience.
- Candidate will provide software system testing support, verification of code and certification that all deliverables meet customer requirements and are free of software defects and/or bugs across the systems development life cycle (SDLC).Candidate will work closely with software engineers and other project team members to successfully test and assess ongoing development within demanding schedules, as well as produce test cases and other Postal project documentation.
- Candidate will execute test plans and related test case scenarios based on documented, and sometimes undocumented, system requirements and/or business rules identifying and documenting defects and anomalies.This may include positive and negative test cases, regression test case procedures and simple to complex business functionality.
- Candidate must have experience using a software defect management tool to log and track defects, providing clear and concise steps to reproduce any issues using tools such as HPs Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Agile User Story management tools, such as, VersionOne.
- Candidate will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle, as well as demonstrate abilities to learn both the business processes as well as new and existing technologies.
- Candidate will work in an Agile team environment and must be able to produce with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
- Degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field of study) plus at least 2 years of professional service, or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Excellent analytic and design skills
- Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills

- Ability to analyze complex and large amounts of data
- A thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Preferred:
- A good working knowledge of database structure and be able to perform simple to complex queries using SQL
- Experience with testing in a distributed database environment.
Security:
