The Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) was created in 2008 to address the growing acquisition workforce challenge facing the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Federal Government overall. The VAAA trains the acquisition workforce, including existing and future contracting professionals, program and project managers, facilities managers, supply chain managers, and logisticians. VAAA training meets the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) certification mandates and ensures the VA has a qualified and certified acquisition workforce to deliver and manage the goods and services Veterans need, when and where they need it.
Location: Full-time, Remote, and Onsite at VAAA located at 7485 New Horizon Way Frederick, MD
Education: BA/BS degree preferred.
Years of Experience: 2-4 years of experience as a Section 508 Trusted Tester
Required: Section 508 Trusted Tester certification and the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance are required.
Responsibilities
The candidate will provide the following:
- Utilize Adobe, Microsoft Word, and CommonLook software to produce the VAAA Annual Course Catalog on an annual basis. The candidate will ensure the catalog is certified as 508-compliant by their 508 Certified Trusted Tester.
- Maintain and produce graphs and tables, using spreadsheets efficiently, and performing calculations and automation to process large volumes of data for insertion into simple to complex reports, presentations, or briefings.
- Continually reviewing standard business processes and identifying areas of the processes that could be streamlined.
- Develop or provide information and reporting support which may include the development and maintenance of trackers, spreadsheets, and reports of an intermediate to complex nature utilizing various software applications (i.e., MS Office Suite or other applications).
- Maintain and develop information trackers, which may include utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel commands (e.g., pivot tables, vlookup, data manipulation, integration into other applications, etc.) to manage volumes of data and provide data reporting.
- Provide monthly activity reports encompassing activities assigned, completed, and pending. The report must include the status of each activity and any relevant comments and shall be sortable by stakeholder, FTE assigned, task date, completion date, due date, and days overdue.
