What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Training Supervisor position at Amspec LLC.?
The Training Supervisor is responsible for training laboratory staff and preparing documentation related to laboratory instrumentation, standard operating procedures, industry standards and methodologies, QA/QC, all ISO procedures (when applicable). They will be the focal point for implementing training requirements and quality control procedures, as well as preparing, archiving, and safeguarding related records. In coordination with the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor, the Laboratory Training Supervisor will:
- Help the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor in training laboratory personnel on the properuse and strict adherence of AmSpec standard operating procedures, latest versions of
industry standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP) in daily laboratory operations.
- Train laboratory staff on calibrations, verifications, maintenance of equipment, and assessment of results, as necessary.
- Establish and maintain an acceptable laboratory training schedule, according to AmSpec quality system procedures.
- Assist the Laboratory Manager/Supervisor in certifying personnel with appropriate educational and/or technical background to perform all the tests for which laboratory is accredited.
- Address issues related to maintaining compliant and assessable records. As well as assisting Laboratory Manager/Supervisor in development of procedures for these activities.
- Assure that the instrumentation and technician training records are available at the laboratory, for internal/external customer and regulatory assessments according to AmSpec quality system procedures.
- Work with Laboratory Manager/Supervisor on laboratory training related CARs, PARs, and customer complaint reports. This may also include helping to maintain all related records for review.
- Provide assistance to management for all laboratory training related items not explicitly listed above.
- Provide back up for Laboratory Manager/Supervisor in their absence.
- Reports to the Laboratory Manager.
- Safety Sensitive position that requires pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana testing).
Required Skills
One of the three education and/or experience requirements must be met:
1. Bachelor’s degree and 1 year experience performing petroleum testing
2. Associate’s degree and 2 years’ experience performing petroleum testing
3. 3 years’ experience performing petroleum testing
- Must possess basic computer, mathematics, and science skills
- Must demonstrate the ability to grasp new procedures quickly and implement them
- Must communicate effectively with employees, outside consultants, and management
- Must possess a thorough understanding of safety and training issues
