Tool Room Apprentice

The apprentice will receive work experience and job related education in all phases of the occupation, including safe work practices, necessary to develop the skill and proficiency of the trade.

The apprentice will be transferred from one operation to another as proficiency warrants.

Shift assignments will vary based on journeyman availability, training requirements, work demand and related instruction schedules.

The course listings outline the related education that supplements the on-the-job learning. It is through the combination of both the on-the-job learning and the related education that the apprentice can reach the skilled level of the occupation. The following is the required course curriculum during the term of apprenticeship.

The apprentice, in addition to receiving practical on-the-job training and experience, shall also be required to attend classes for related and supplemental instruction for whatever amount of time deemed necessary.

An evaluation of records and performance shall be given prior to each wage advancement. In this evaluation, school attendance, progress and daily employment records of the apprentices will be evaluated to determine if the apprentice is ready for advancement.

The apprentice will receive training in the various work experiences:

Must follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.

Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
