What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heat Treat Operator position at Amsted Automotive?
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a full time Heat Treat operator to perform duties to efficiently and effectively assist in processing parts through our furnaces.
Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to several elements continuously present including heat, dirt, grease, oils, fluids and noise.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Load and unload parts.
- Process quality parts to process specifications.
- Inspect parts visually for foreign material and/or defects.
- Preform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
- Adhere to work instructions and process cards as required per job.
- Maintain a zero-defect mentality and be quality conscious.
- Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
- Support and participate in the departmental structure of self-directed work teams.
- Understand and perform to the AAG Quality Policy, taking pride in the products produced.
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required or instructed.
- Move, load and unload materials as necessary.
- Deposit scrap items in designated area.
- Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
- Understand and performs ISO 14001 work instructions as identified in, “ISO 14001 Work Instruction Assignments”.
- Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Previous manufacturing experience helpful
- Manual dexterity, visual acuity, mental alertness.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
