What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Amsted Automotive?
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Primary Function Summary
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment while adhering to All Safety procedures/rules/regulations
- Maintenance and Repair of entire facility ranging from basic equipment to complex machinery.
- Using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), review work orders, identify needed repairs on equipment, and acquire parts, equipment, and tools to complete repairs.
- Document all activities through work management system.
- Performing daily, weekly, monthly preventive and predictive maintenance. Ensuring, through effective communication, these activities are comprehensive enough to drive Machine Reliability.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems.
- Maintains and repairs industrial controls.
- Communicating effectively and professionally with fellow employees.
- Participating in daily shift meetings, providing feedback, aid in prioritizing and reviewing work orders to schedule daily work.
- Contribute to Plant Continuous Improvement Initiatives through constant feedback concerning CI ideas, PM optimization, etc.
- Updates job knowledge by identifying and participating in educational opportunities.
- Any other work as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Highly disciplined, problem-solver, team player with a strong work ethic
- Safety Conscious
- Ability to work in a Manufacturing environment
- Understands Components (Bearings/Gearbox/Power distribution)
- Good welding and fabrication skills
- Can read blueprints, parts diagrams
- Ability to use Multi-Meter (Voltage, Continuity, Amperage, etc.)
- Understands and can troubleshoot electrical components, Read and understand Control Schematics
- Can troubleshoot Motors and understands 3 phase voltage
- Understands AC drives and basic parameter adjustment
- Understanding of hydraulic Principles (Process flow, pumps, valves, pipefitting principles, ect).

WHAT ELSE YOU’LL NEED TO KNOW
- Ability to regularly stand or work for long periods of time.
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or previous Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge is preferred
- Be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
- Able to lift and carry products and/or equipment of up to 50 lbs
