ABOUT THE ROLE
Amsted Automotive Group, Cold Form & Finishing (CFF) Division, located in Oxford, Mississippi, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to be responsible for supporting the daily plant quality operations and monitoring various inspection and testing functions of the Quality department. Coordinate with other departments, collect data, analyze customer data, and resolve customer and supplier issues.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Under direction of the Quality Manager / Senior Management, respond to and follow up on external customer concerns and Corrective Action Requests representing the “Voice of the Customer”
- Maintain the Quality Management System and ISO/IATF 16949 Certifications.
- Operate with proficiency in automotive quality problem solving disciplines (Ishikaw, 3-Legged/5-Why, 8D, etc). Root cause analysis and implementation of permanent corrective action for product and process related concerns.
- Gather and Analyze statistical data (SPC) and make recommendations for process adjustments / improvements
- Participate in the APQP Process (PFMEA and Control Plan Development) in collaboration with Program Management and Engineering functions, including Gage R&R studies.
- Conduct Annual Layouts
- Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure successful transfer to Production of new products within approved specifications.
- Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventative actions.
- Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc. while supporting the Quality Technicians.
- Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventative actions.
- Preparation of QA reports, capability studies, PPAP documentation, etc.
- Manage suppliers and supplier development activities
- Develop training to build quality awareness.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required or equivalent experience (5-10 years) experience as a Quality Engineer, or similar, in an ISO certified environment.
- Certification by American Society of Quality preferred but not required
- Experience in Measurement Systems: calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, CMM (Open DMIS) using CAD generated models
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools: SPC, APQP, PFEMA, MSA & PPAP
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment and excellent work history.
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and competency with GD&T
- Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office products as well as current technology software familiarity.
- Proactive, positive attitude, safety and environmental focused.
- The ability to travel as needed < 25%

WHAT ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW
- This role will be based in a heavy manufacturing facility and hazards will include heavy machinery, noise, chemicals, etc.
- Ability to regularly stand or work for long periods of time.
- Ability to regularly lift/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
